Stopped working terrible customer service

Product stopped working 2.5 years after we installed it. Still lights up but stopped heating food. Had to chat with customer service online for over an hour then they gave me a phone number to call and hung up the chat. Called waited on hold only to find out that it costs $300 to send someone out to diagnose the problem but dont worry If its the magnetron that failed the part is under warranty. That is not at all helpful when the cost to repair exceeds the purchase price of the brand new unit. It is extremely unfortunate because that means that we will have to junk the whole thing and it will end up in a landfill. It does not make any sense to me why repairing a product would cost more than buying a brand new one. Giving two stars only because we liked the way it worked until it suddenly broke. Now it will be a massive pain to replace and the price of fixing it is not an option.

Disappointed and unreliable

What can I say . The panel had to get replaced within 6 mo of purchase. Magnetron failed within 2 hrs of panel repair. It took 2 wks to get magnetron part replaced. 2 weeks later the cooking sensor was not sensing and cutting off within 1 minute. The microwave just failed while baking potatoes. Customer service did what they could but their chat drops then you have to repeat everything and go with the same set of instructions given before chat drop. Now it messed up dinner. Thanks for the experience. I know now we cant trust LG products.

This microwave is crap

Purchased microwave seven months later the circuit board had to be replaced. The new circuit board developed the same issue flickering digits called to replaced that circuit board and was informed the replacement part only has a three month warranty. So combined between the two circuit boards we got 10 months out of them. The board as a part represents about one half the cost of a new microwave. Unbelievable that LG doesnt stand behind there products any better than this. Since both circuit parts had the exact same issue there is obviously a problem with that part.

I would have rated this microwave excellent except for the fact that the display panel has no backlight. During the day the functions and numbers are readable but when the room is dark you cannot see the display and need to turn on a bright light.

We have been remodeling our kitchen and decided to replace the vent hood over the stove with a over-the-range microwave. I struggled with mounting the unit but was quiet happy when the unit was on the wall. When I powered the unit up my happiness went from satisfaction to disappointment There were issues with it right out of the box. We contacted LG and informed them of the problems with the unit. I was very pleased when LG jumped on the issue without question and dealt with the problem. They put our claim with Fair and Honest who worked with us coming out to assess the problem and had a plan to correct everything. Between scheduling for the service technicians to come out it did take a little time to complete the repair but just receiving the attention of great customer service turned a disappointing experience to a good one. Thanks for everything

Great microwave minor flaw

I bought this microwave as part of a suite in December. I love the microwave it does an excellent job and the features are pretty easy to use. The issue is with the microwave plate. It does not sit well on the roller and easily falls off its seat. When the additional rack is in there you tend to pull the plate with your product which in my case the plate came off and crashed onto the top of our glass top stove. Smashing it. PS there is absolutely no coverage available for a situation like that And you have to pay for that yourself.

Microwave with great performance but dim keypad

Every picture of this product to include the one on this survey on the product packaging and even in the manual advertises a highly visible easily readable keypad yet in reality the keypad is barely readable at all and can only be read when an external bright light source is shined onto the keypad. This condition impacts the full functional experience of the microwave and leads to diminished brand equity for LG as a result of customer frustration and dissatisfaction with that component of the product.

Replacement for Previous LG Microwave

Great: outside dimensions allowed for direct replacement of a previous LG microwave. The mounting bracket on the wall fit perfectly in new oven. One problem was the hole pattern in the new oven did NOT perfectly match the old oven had to drill one new hole. Needs Improvement: the control pattern is almost impossible to read in dim light needs to be brighter I understand the need for the look. The Easy Clean interior is black - it was much better being white. It showed the dirt better and was much brighter with the light on. One minor issue is that the door seems a little looser than the previous model.

We are just out of warranty and the microwave doesnt heat and the microwave turntable no longer works. Disappointing. Other issues are that the buttons are unusually difficult to push and the stainless steel material LG uses shows fingerprints and smudges and I have yet to find a product that will help. Other manufacturer appliances in our kitchen do not have that same issue.

This was a replacement microwave for a higher in the LG model that I had purchased a couple years ago and went bad on me. This model one week out of warranty started giving display issues in the clock area. Others on line have noted this issue. Since it is a known issue and its only been a week out of warranty I wouldve expected them to look at it but basically they dont stand behind their products.

Looks and works great

Last minute buy as our microwave decided to quit. It was easy to install. 3 things 1 you have to press hard on keys 2 makes a strange double tick sound when pressing start. 3 would of preferred to add another light bulb in the hood area. I like to clearly see the colors of the food while cooking. Other than that it works great.

the display is a problem

A digit on the display does not work properly. It is very frustrating when trying to see the time. One of the 4 display characters always blinks.

Our new LG microwave is great but we have to use a flashlight to see the dials on the front. We called LG and sent a picture and they said to return it. Problem they all look like that. We have to go back to the store and try to pick another one. We havent gotten the stove back ordered for a month now.

If it is a little dark in the kitchen I have a hard time seeing the buttons that says Cook time or the whole bottom of the display to turn oven on It does show Time I have to get close to see I dont have to wear glasses or need them Some time you just dont want to turn on the light but have to

We purchased this microwave when we were moving into our condo along with a range and refrigerator. Everything seemed to be going well then a few cosmetic items from the microwave started failing. We first noticed it after we did a deep clean on our oven also from LG. We believe the heat from the deep clean heated some of the plastic components that tried to expand but since they were secured by screws caused them to break. Additionally the display screen started flickering like if power was failing although we havent had any power issues. I checked to see how much the display is and it costs almost as much as a new microwave

Attractive but challenging to use

As other reviews have mentioned the keys do not light up and on a cloudy day / evening it is very difficult to read the buttons. Also you need to push extremely hard to have them work. The microwave cooks well just difficult to start. We did have a problem with a rattle just after it was installed and LG send a repair person within 2 days. We were very pleased with their response and the problem was fixed.

I bought this 2yrs ago along with refrigerator stove and dishwasher. All 4pcs have been lemons. We have had nothing but problems with the LG brand.

Works well hard to read buttons

It works fine but the buttons are extremely difficult to read and are not very touch friendly. I probably would not buy this particular model again.

Decent machine

This is a decent machine. I would have liked the keys to be backlit as they are hard to see if the overhead light isnt on. Id also like to have control over the beep either a control for the sound level or a shut off. Otherwise the power is very good. Heating my food at 1000 w 100 is just as effective as my 2 year old 1200 w machine was. Now I just have to get used to having an over the range microwave
